PGA Championship CRUSHES NBA Playoffs in TV Ratings
Fans appear to be getting sick of the left-wing, anti-cop agenda of the NBA league and its players and are now tuning out.
While golf generally has fewer fans overall than the NBA, it actually crushed the NBA playoffs over the weekend when the two went head-to-head.
“Despite all the hype for the NBA playoffs one year after the bubble, stars like LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, Chris Paul, James Harden, and Joel Embiid took an L this weekend to the PGA Championship,” OutKick reported. “A bad one.”
“The most telling number comes at the top, the Lakers-Suns Game 1 battle,” the sports website noted. “The NBA smartly placed the most talked-about matchup, with the biggest stars, at the 3:30 ET Sunday ABC, the NBA’s most-viewed time slot. For the NBA, that’s its NFL Sunday afternoon window. Despite that, it drew a not-much-to-see 4.4 million.”
“As first noted by Sports Business Journal, the final round of the PGA Championship drew 6.6 million viewers, up from 5.2 million in 2020 and 5.0 million in 2019,” Outkick noted.
If you think about it, Sunday afternoon should be a perfect time to watch sports. People can go to church in the morning and then spend the day with family and friends, relaxing and watching TV.
But it turns out, people do not even use the NBA as background noise during their graduation parties.
As the NBA has focused on promoting its hard-left agenda and catering to Black Lives Matter supporters, many patriots have tuned out, as they just want to enjoy watching a game, not get a political lesson.
The NBA has been suffering from leftist activism, as its players frequently use their platforms to push anti-police and anti-American propaganda. While the leftist, anti-Trump players and coaches cannot keep their mouths shut when it comes to criticizing America, they seem flustered and confused when asked to condemn the Chinese Communist Party.
“The truth is, the NBA is just not as popular as we’ve been led to believe. It’s the primary sport on ESPN/ABC. It’s the most frequently talked about sport on social media. Its players’ views align with those with the loudest voices in our country. Combine all that, and you have a product promoted well beyond its interest level,” OutKick said.
As you can see from this August 2020 video, the NBA ratings drop has been a problem for awhile now, as players and coaches infuse politics into what should be a nonpartisan, fun activity.
