Police department sides with LeBron James, fires cop who mocked basketball player
The city of Bellevue, Idaho caved to leftists and fired a police officer, Nate Silvester, who mocked LeBron James after the NBA player made anti-police statements.
The city of Bellevue, Idaho has caved to cancel culture and fired a brave law enforcement officer who made a video mocking LeBron James, after the NBA player made another ignorant statement about cops.
LeBron James had posted a tweet appearing to threaten Columbus, Ohio cop Nick Reardon after the Ohio police officer saved a black woman from being stabbed by another black girl named Ma’Khia Bryant who had cocked her arm back to stab the woman.
James, who has a history of ignorant statements, had posted Reardon’s photo and said “you’re next.” The shooting occured the same day that Minnesota cop Derek Chauvin was convicted.
Nate Silvester made a video where he pretended to call James and asked him how to respond to a 911 call.
“During the week of May 20th, while on shift Deputy Marshal Nate Silvester violated several clearly established City of Bellevue and State of Idaho Policing policies,” the town posted on its Facebook page.
“After his previous policy violations Deputy Marshal Silvester was placed on probation and was on, what is called, a ‘last chance agreement’ with his superior officers. Because of his continued policy violations, the Marshal has terminated Mr. Sylvester effective May 27th, 2021,” the town wrote.
Many people sharply criticized the town’s decision, though the town also limited Facebook comments.
“Dear mayor and city council. You might want to resign,” Robert Stark wrote.
Another person, John Shandorf implied that a lawsuit would be won.
“He made fun of Lebron James and his parody was hysterical!” Shandorf said. “Taxpayers of Bellevue, Idaho, get ready to pay big time!”
“This is appalling,” Laurie, another commenter, wrote.
“Name the names of those that pushed for this,” Matthew Cunningham said.”They should be out of a job. Loyal to a big mouth basketball player, not a person that put his life on the line for the citizens.”
