Official SUV of NCAA March Madness Is Made In China

The official SUV of March Madness is a General Motors Buick “Envision,” which is reportedly made in China.

The vehicle face of the NCCA March Madness college basketball tournament is the Buick Envision this year. Buick is a division of General Motors (GM), the struggling “American” car brand that makes several of its products in China.

The Buck Envision ranks among the bottom of luxury compact SUVs as Buick has struggled to compete with the performance of its rivals.

The GM product has been part of a major advertising campaign for the 2021 NCAA March Madness college basketball tournament.

The advertising campaign drew attention to how the unpopular “Envision” car has been exclusively manufactured in China since its creation in 2014.

China is also the country where the COVID-19 virus originated.

Angry American consumers called out GM for manufacturing the SUV in China instead of America on twitter and social media over the weekend.

The Envision was the first car built in China intended for U.S. markets.

In August 2018, General Motors asked the Trump administration to exempt the Envision from any tariffs.

Do you think General Motors should make all their vehicles in America? Are you watching March Madness this year? Comment your thoughts below!
