NFL Commissioner threatens teams with forfeitures if unvaccinated players catch COVID

Even vaccinated people have contracted and spread COVID, but that doesn’t matter to the NFL according to recent reports.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell is going all in on pushing vaccines, despite the free will decisions by a number of players to not take it. A recently released memo threatens teams and players with financial punishment and forfeitures if an unvaccinated player spreads COVID, which may be hard to prove.

That’s because, as the Texas Democrat debacle shows, even fully-vaccinated people around other fully-vaccinated people can apparently spread coronavirus to each other.

Tom Pelissero, an NFL Network reporter, recently shared this on Twitter:

The memo “also says the team responsible for a canceled game because of an outbreak among unvaccinated players/staff will be responsible for financial losses and subject to potential discipline from the commissioner.”

NBC Sports analyzed the situation and noted the harshness coming from NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.

“While the NFL has not mandated players or coaches get vaccinated, the message all along has been clear,” NBC Sports noted. “It had already prepared to make life much harder for those who remained unvaccinated and now there are penalties associated with unvaccinated outbreaks.”

NFL players such as Cole Beasley have made a decision not to get vaccinated. Pro-Bowl Wide Receiver DeAndre Hopkins posted in a now-deleted tweet that he is contemplating his future.

Do you think the NFL should let players make their own decisions? Do you think it is the fault of healthy, unvaccinated people if someone else gets COVID? Share your thoughts below!
