Cleveland Indians announce franchise name change

The once iconic Cleveland Indians will soon be called and rebranded as the Cleveland Guardians

The notoriously cheap Major League Baseball team announced the impending name change on Friday morning with a video narrated by far-left actor Tom Hanks.

The team announced they planned to change the name in December of 2020.

The club has held the name since 1915, a name that was originally given to honor the memory of the first Native American professional baseball player, Louis Sockalexis.

Cleveland native and Ohio Senate Candidate Josh Mandel blasted the decision as being, “woke political correctness.”

Trump advocate Pastor Darrell Scott called the new name the, “STUPIDEST NAME FOR A TEAM IN ALL OF BASEBALL!!!”

Donald J Trump, the 45th President of the United States, released a statement criticizing the decision.

The Washington Redskins team president Jason Wright told The Washington Post earlier this month that their team would unveil its new name and logo in early 2022.
