Waukesha Christmas Parade driver pleads not guilty to all 77 charges
It appears that the Waukesha suspect Darrell Brooks is a career criminal and a supporter of Black Lives Matter — and he is claiming he is not guilty of 77 different accounts relating to the violent attack.
Black Lives Matter supporter and Waukesha murder suspect Darrell Brooks said he is not guilty for the violent attack in November 2021 that killed six people and injured 62 others.
“He pleaded not guilty Friday to a total of 77 criminal charges that now include homicide, reckless endangerment and witness intimidation,” The Daily Cardinal reported.
“Prosecutors hold evidence including cellphone videos that they say show Brooks deliberately drove through the parade,” the Madison, Wisconsin newspaper report.
Brooks’ attorney said he “could not escape the parade route once he entered because the side streets were barricaded and filled with spectators,” according to the paper’s summary.
Yet Brooks is a career criminal with a history of violence.
NPR previously reported on Brooks’ criminal record:
Brooks has a criminal history in Wisconsin. In 2020, he was charged with recklessly endangering safety and being a felon in possession of a firearm, according to documents from the Milwaukee District Attorney's office provided to NPR.
The documents also show that Brooks previously used his vehicle to cause harm. Earlier this month, he confronted a woman outside a motel. He knocked her phone out of her hand and drove off. He then returned, punch her in the face and and ran her over with his vehicle. The report notes that the woman had tire marks on her pants in addition to other injuries from the incident.
It was also reported earlier that Brooks was/is an avid supporter of the far-left Black Lives Matter movement, a movement that has been known for staging protests that routinely evolve into riots and violence.
