Levi's brand president says she was forced out over opposition to COVID school closures
It looks like another major company is being exposed as woke. Levi’s reportedly forced out one of their executives because they had personal objections to COVID lockdowns, particularly the effect on students.
The popular clothing brand now being dubbed by conservatives, “Leftist Levi’s” has forced out its brand president over her criticism in a personal capacity of the effect of COVID lockdowns on students.
“[Jennifer] Sey, a mother of four, explained in [a blog she wrote] that she had long been an advocate for children and that Levi's had always supported her in the past when she expressed other political views, but that all changed after Sey refused to stop speaking out against California shutting down public schools in the name of safety due to the coronavirus pandemic,” Fox Business reported.
Sey herself is a liberal on other issues — she is an Elizabeth Warren supporter and said she posted in support of black people who were killed, including George Floyd. But she wasn’t woke enough on every issue, so Levi’s had to reportedly force her out of her job.
Sey said she asked the jeans company to weigh in on school closures, but it declined. That’s fine of course, but it is not appropriate for Levi’s to offer her $1 million to leave and keep her mouth shut.
