Virginia Republicans reclaim state House of Delegates

Democrats were likely harmed by Clinton ally Terry McAuliffe’s liberal politics.

Republicans recaptured the House of Delegates in Virginia on a night when the Democratic Party took a beating.

One likely reason is that the Democratic Party ran on keeping parents out of schools and tried to downplay the presence of racist critical race theory in schools.

“The GOP win of the lower chamber in Virginia’s General Assembly came just after Republican Glenn Youngkin won the governor’s election against Democrat Terry McAuliffe, who was aiming to win a second non-consecutive four-year term in the governor’s mansion,” the Washington Times reported. “Democrats still retain a slight edge in the state Senate, which was not on the ballot this year.”

I'm sorry to say that we did not win our race last night. It was a rough night for Democrats statewide: a lot of good incumbents lost their seats and a lot of good candidates will not be able to give what they have to offer to this Commonwealth. 1/4
