Senator Ted Cruz Reintroduces Amendment Imposing Term Limits
Senator Ted Cruz reintroduced an amendment on Monday imposing term limits on members of Congress and was backed with support by several of his colleagues in the Senate.
According to the proposed amendment, Senators would be limited to two six-year terms and Representatives would be given a limit of three two-year terms.
Cruz’s amendment is currently being supported by Senators Marco Rubio, Mike Braun, Todd Young, Pat Toomey, and Rick Scott.
Cruz has also spoken in support of imposing a lifetime ban on any member of Congress from pursuing a career as a lobbyist after they leave their political office.
