Biden Sets Record For Amount Of Executive Orders Signed First Week In Office
According to CNN, Joe Biden has set the record for the amount of executive orders signed within the first week of being President with 21 executive orders. On top of the orders, Biden signed 12 other actions, proclamations, and directives.
In the recent history of Presidents in their first week, Trump signed four executive orders, Obama signed five, Bush signed zero, and Clinton signed one. Not even FDR was close to the amount of orders signed by Biden.
South Carolina Congressman Ralph Norman criticized Biden for the overreach and tweeted “Update: This Admin has been in for 5 days and signed OVER 20 Executive Orders, undoing much of the progress the previous Admin made. This is no way to govern. President Biden should reconsider these power plays. It’s time for him work with Congress like he promised to do.”
Freshman Congresswoman Lauren Boebert also criticized Biden over Twitter.
“Joe Biden is gearing up for yet another week of executive orders. We know he can be forgetful so perhaps someone should remind him that Congress exists!” Boebert tweeted.
It is unknown what other actions Biden plans on taking via executive orders.
