US Supreme Court Rejects Texas Lawsuit Against Battleground States

The US Supreme Court announced on Friday evening that they would not be taking up a lawsuit seeking to overturn results in four key battleground states filed by Texas.

The ruling was released in a three-sentence order.

“The State of Texas’s motion for leave to file a bill of complaint is denied for lack of standing under Article III of the Constitution. Texas has not demonstrated a judicially cognizable interest in the manner in which another State conducts its elections,” the Supreme Court order stated. “All other pending motions are dismissed as moot.”

The lawsuit filed by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, was supported by 18 other states, and 126 Republicans in the House of Representatives and President Donald J Trump. It sought to invalidate millions of votes cast in Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
