Ron DeSantis pledges to send help to Texas for border crisis

The Republican Governor has answered Greg Abbott’s call to help secure the border, as the Biden-Harris team refuses to do so.

Republican Governor Ron DeSantis said that he will be sending law enforcement officers to help secure the border.

Gov. Ron DeSantis said he’s answering a call for help from Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey who sent letters to other governors last week,” KHOU11 reported.

“Governors Abbott and Ducey recently sent out a call for help to every state in the nation, needing additional law enforcement manpower and other resources to aid with border security,” DeSantis said. “I’m proud to announce today that the state of Florida is answering the call. Florida has your back.”

Abbott recently announced a private-public initiative to fund border wall construction in Texas.

Florida taxpayers shoulder the burden when illegal migrants enter the country and settle in the state. The increased costs include schooling and social service costs.

“The Florida Division of Emergency Management is coordinating this deployment of the law enforcement officers under the Emergency Management Assistance Compact,” KHOU explained. “EMAC is a national mutual aid system that allows states to share resources from all disciplines, protect personnel who deploy, and be reimbursed for mission related costs.”
