President Trump Tells GOP to Stop Using His Likeness and Name Without Permission
President Trump’s lawyers have issued cease and desist letters to the Republican National Committee and all other GOP entities to stop using his name and likeness.
President Trump’s lawyers are demanding they stop using President Trump’s name and likeness on fundraising emails, direct mail, and merchandise without his explicit permission.
The cease and desist letters were sent to the RNC, the National Republican Congressional Committee and the National Republican Senatorial Committee — all three organizations have been using President Trump’s likeness in their solicitations.
As recently as Friday the RNC sent an email to subscribers asking them to add their name to President Trump’s “Thank You Card.”
President Trump has announced his commitment to electing Republican candidates to the US House and Senate in 2022 and 2024. The former President has also launched his own PAC called the “Save America PAC.”
During President Trump’s most recent public speech at CPAC he stated that the only way to contribute to his efforts was through his Save America PAC and DonaldJTrump.com explicitly leaving out traditional GOP organizations.
President Trump is also rumored to be building a grassroots apparatus to his PAC that could potentially serve as the foundation for a possible 2024 run.
