New York set to give $2 billion to illegal immigrants for “coronavirus relief”
The state of New York is setting aside $2 billion of taxpayer dollars to hand out to illegal immigrants.
“New York lawmakers struck a deal this week to establish a $2.1 billion coronavirus relief fund for undocumented immigrants and other unemployed workers who were ineligible for federal aid during the pandemic,” Fox Business reported.
“The fund, which was announced as part of a broader $212 billion state budget agreement, will offer one-time payments of up to $15,600 to undocumented immigrants who lost their jobs during the virus-induced crisis,” the news organization said.
“Americans are no longer a priority for Democrats!” conservative commentator Trish Regan tweeted in response to the news.
The unemployment welfare fund comes as Governor Andrew Cuomo’s lockdowns have caused job losses for tens of thousands of American citizens. But the disgraced governor seems more interested in giving welfare to illegal immigrants.
Despite the claims by leftist activists that illegal immigrants are here working and contributing to the economy, a liberal think-tank said that 290,000 illegal immigrants would be eligible for one of the two unemployment welfare payments.
The billions of dollars “was more than double the relief given to small businesses that employ our family, friends, and neighbors,” New York Republicans pointed out in a video.
