Canadian Church Shutdown & Fenced Off Over COVID Rule Violations
The Alberta provincial government shut down Grace Life Church for not following COVID rules, in a clear suppression of religious freedom.
“A church in Alberta, Canada, has been shut down and fenced off by the Alberta government for running afoul of coronavirus rules,” Breitbart reported.
“Alberta Health Services said in a statement that GraceLife church will remain closed until it shows it can and will comply with public-health measures meant to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus,” according to the Toronto Star.
“Churches in the region are allowed to open at 15 percent capacity with social distancing and masks, but officials say GraceLife has had hundreds of congregants attend its church services,” Breitbart reported. The pastor, James Coates, served jail time for exercising his faith.
The closure comes as another sign of the way COVID lockdowns have targeted religious institutions.
Canada is becoming more of a secular country every day, and local government leaders are doing everything they can to target Christians and others who oppose the unscientific lockdowns.
While many on Twitter opposed the lockdowns, some enemies of freedom supported the closure.
“Does anyone have a list of businesses owned by members of the Grace Life Church?” one person tweeted. “I’d hate if I inadvertently supported anyone that flagrantly disobeyed public health orders like that.”
