Lindsey Graham Announces Plan to Grant Amnesty to 3.5 Million Migrants
At a Wednesday press conference, South Carolina Republican Senator Lindsey Graham announced plans to push for amnesty for illegal immigrants.
“Sen. Lindsey Graham , along with a group of House Republicans led by Rep. Maria Salazar [of Florida] is promoting an amnesty plan for illegal aliens living in the United States as border crossings skyrocket at the U.S.-Mexico border,” according to Breitbart.
A handful of Republican moderates, who support legalizing lawbreaking immigrants, held a press conference where they announced their proposal.
Many immigration experts have analyzed Biden’s executive actions rolling back Trump’s immigration policies and have concluded that the policies are fueling illegal immigration.
The so-called “Dignity Proposal” would, according to Breitbart, “give legal resident status to anywhere from 1.5 to 3.5 million illegal aliens who are enrolled and eligible for [Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals].”
Congress is currently considering several immigration proposals. Leftist politicians like Senator Chuck Schumer and Elizabeth Warren see an opportunity to bring in millions of illegal immigrants and give amnesty to millions more.
“Democrats in the House of Representatives are expected to move forward this week with their first effort at immigration reform during the current Congress, taking a stab at addressing a problem that has vexed lawmakers for years,” CNBC reported.
“The push comes as President Joe Biden’s administration is wrestling with a surge of unaccompanied minors on the southern border with Mexico,” CNBC noted.
“Amnesty is not happening on my watch,” Republican Colorado Congresswoman Lauren Boebert said.
“There is no compromise happening,” Boebert said on Twitter.
Meanwhile, Graham’s Twitter account is curiously absent of references to the press conference, in recent days. Most of his tweets are about securing the border.
