Kamala Harris Fails to Salute Military While Boarding Air Force Two, Gets Blasted on Twitter
Vice President Kamala Harris is facing backlash for failing to salute the honor guard when boarding Air Force Two while in Jacksonville, Florida.
While there is no official rule to salute military members while boarding Air Force Two, footage from the Trump and Obama Administrations show Vice President Pence and Vice President Biden regularly saluting the military members as they boarded the plane.
Video footage of the perceived slight is shared below:
Former Police Commissioner of the New York City Police Department, and NY Times bestselling author Bernard Kerik blasted Harris calling the move “DISGRACEFUL.”
Turning Point USA Founder and CEO, Charlie Kirk, called out Harris for previously claiming that President Trump, “was the one who didn’t respect the troops” while simultaneously not saluting the ones right in front of her.
When asked about the Vice President’s failure to salute, Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said that, "There is no overarching instruction or regulation that requires the President or Vice President to return hand salutes from members of the Armed Forces.”
