GRAPHIC: Puerto Rican Couple Dragged Out of Car in Chicago, Shot in Point Blank Range

Gyovanny Arzuaga and Yasmin Perez were both shot in Chicago while celebrating Puerto Rican Day, Arzuaga is now dead.

A video appears to show a crowd of mostly black people in Chicago, attacking a young Puerto Rican couple over the weekend who were celebrating “Puerto Rican Day.”

It’s not clear how many people were involved, but Gyovanny Arzuaga is now dead, and his girlfriend remains in critical condition.

The cause of the violence appears to be, if anything, due to a car accident. The car was coming from a Puerto Rican parade and had a Puerto Rico flag.

“According to the Chicago Sun-Times, a police spokeswoman said a crash took place moments before the shooting, prompting a large crowd to surround Arzuaga's vehicle before the gunmen started shooting,” Newsweek reported.

“The graphic video shows a shooting at close range as people fight near a car that is festooned with a Puerto Rican flag,” Heavy.com reported. “According to Fox News, Arzuaga was shot in the head and Perez was shot in the neck, but her condition is not clear.”
