REPORT: Apple’s Chinese wind power partner has ties to slave labor programs
The company has embraced a far-left social agenda, but allegedly partners with companies who exploit human rights in China.
The tech company Apple supports Black Lives Matter and has criticized Georgia’s election integrity legislation.
But it has been accused of partnering with a wind power company that uses slave labor in China, an accusation that undercuts its public support of a far-left social agenda.
“A wind farm company in China that has partnered with Apple has allegedly been linked to the use of forced labor of Uyghurs from the Xinjiang region, increasing the number of companies said to be involved with the repression,” appleinsider.com reported recently.
“A report in May claimed a group of seven suppliers involved in the Apple supply chain were participants in labor programs thought to be connected to the Chinese genocide of Xinjiang Uyghurs,” the news site reported.
“In a second report on Tuesday, it seems one more company has been added to the list.”
To many people, this seems like a classic example of liberal hypocrisy. The company is criticizing a state for passing an election integrity law, but it has allegedly refused to stop the exploitation of Muslim slaves.
The company has previously lobbied to stop anti-slavery laws.
