WATCH: The View's Sunny Hostin Says She Thought “Florida is going to kill all of us” While Watching Super Bowl
During an episode of The View on Monday, co-host Sunny Hostin blasted the NFL for hosting 14,500 fans at the Super Bowl and called it a superspreader event while claiming that she thought Florida was going to “kill all of us.”
“Well, I’ll continue to handle it as responsibly as possible by social distancing and wearing my mask, and washing my hands and hopefully getting the vaccine as soon as it is available, but I got to tell you in watching 22,000 fans in the stadium yesterday, most wearing masks, but then afterwards revelers running all around without masks, I just kept on thinking, superspreader event, superspreader event, superspreader event…” said Hostin.
“I was thinking about Governor DeSantis with, you know, lifting all of the restrictions. I thought, you know, Florida is going to kill all of us. I really felt that way, and there really should be no reason why wearing a mask has been politicized the way that it has been. There should be no reason why Governor DeSantis has been so woefully inadequate in terms of protecting the people not only of Florida, but the people of the United States,” continued Hostin.
Imagine all those — those people, those 14,500 ticket buyers who are going to fly back somewhere or go back into their communities and infect other people. I thought it was despicable and disgusting,” Hostin concluded.
