Olympics ratings CRASH: Viewers being turned off by politicization
The Olympics is usually a point of unity for the country -- but anti-flag and politically divisive statements by Olympic athletes have led many Americans to find something better to do.
Olympic athletes can swear about President Trump and disrespect our flag and country but American citizens can also choose not to watch the games.
“Ratings for the Olympic Games opening ceremony were down 36% compared to 2016, according to preliminary numbers from NBC Universal,” Axios reported.
“The ‘activist athletes’ had already destroyed the NFL, NBA, and even started in on the MLB, so it was only natural that they’d do the same to the Olympics,” conservative commentator Wayne Dupree said in his analysis.
Axios meanwhile offered the explanation that the delay of one year has led to a lack of interest in the games -- even though that should in theory have created a pent-up demand.
Furthermore, the NBA Finals has ended, leaving hundreds of thousands of U.S. sports fan in search of something to watch.
