Lebron Says He “Fueled” Wrong Conversation About Ma’Khia Bryant, Doubles Down on Anti-Police Claims
Lebron previously apologized for rushing to condemn Columbus police officer Nick Reardon who quickly shot and killed a teenage girl who was about to stab a black woman.
Several weeks ago, NBA player LeBron James tweeted a photo of Nick Reardon, a Columbus police officer, who quickly intervened to stop the stabbing of a black woman by Ma’Khia Bryant.
He apologized but recently backtracked, returning to his habit of pushing an anti-cop narrative, even though he personally has armed officers protect him.
“I fueled the wrong conversation about Ma’Khia Bryant and I owe it to her and this movement to change it,” the NBA player tweeted recently.
James gave a link to a Vox article that said that Reardon should have tried to talk down the armed Bryant. The writer even posited, without any apparent evidence, that “she was presumed to be defending herself.
A number of Twitter users pointed out that Lebron James was wrong.
“The cop did the RIGHT thing,” Steven Smith said.
“She had a knife trying to kill another person!” Isham Burks said.
Should Lebron James stick to basketball? Do you think the NBA has gotten too woke?
