Fox Sports Host Says Tim Tebow Got Tryout with Jaguars Due to ‘White Privilege’
Fox Sports Radio co-host Rob Parker blamed Heisman Winner Tim Tebow’s whiteness as the reason why the Jacksonville Jaguars recently gave him a tryout at Tight End.
Rob Parker, the co-host of Fox Sports Radio’s show, “The Odd Couple” does a nightly sports talk show featuring Chris Broussard and himself.
On Monday May 3rd, Rob Parker and Chris Broussard were engaged in a heated debate over former college football National Champion Tim Tebow receiving a tryout with the Jacksonville Jaguars at the Tight End position nearly a decade removed from Tebow’s NFL football career as a mobile Quarterback.
Parker tried to claim that Tebow’s tryout was the, “ultimate White Privilege” while ignoring that the current head coach for the Jacksonville Jaguars is Urban Meyer, Tebow’s former coach at the University of Florida where they won two national championships together and Tebow won the Heisman Trophy.

Chris Broussard blasted Parker on air for making the claims stating that, “this takes away from when there’s REAL racism. STOP IT, this is FOOLISHNESS.”
For years NFL scouts wanted Tebow to make the switch to tight end, but the former Heisman winning Quarterback refused. At 6 foot 3 inches and 250 pounds, his measurables are the perfect fit for Fullback or Tight End, especially with Tebow’s athleticism and speed.
Tebow went 8-6 as a starting NFL quarterback in his career, even winning a playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers while playing with the Denver Broncos.
However Tebow finished his QB career with a porous completion percentage of just 47.9%.
When asked by media about the tryout Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Urban Meyer said he had removed himself from the situation and was not sure if Tebow could help the team win any games moving forward. It’s unclear if Tebow will end up suiting up in the NFL again.
