Bills GM said he is open to cutting unvaccinated NFL players
NFL players union has not yet endorsed mandatory vaccinations.
The general manager of the Buffalo Bills recently said he would be considering cutting unvaccinated players on his team if it meant the team could have more liberties, ironically.
“Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane would theoretically consider cutting an unvaccinated player if it meant the team being able to lift NFL COVID-19 protocols restricting in-person team meetings,” the Associated Press reported.
“Beane’s response was to a question about potentially cutting a player at the lower end of Buffalo’s 53-man roster, and comes when the NFL is loosening its restrictions for teams whose staff and players have been fully vaccinated,” the Associated Press reported.
However, he could face some resistance, as some of his star players have not agreed to get the COVID vaccine.
“Starting safety Jordan Poyer’s wife, Rachel Bush, has actively protested mask wearing and mandatory vaccination on her Twitter account,” the news organization noted.
“I think everybody should have a choice to do it and not to do it,” Bills QB Josh Allen said last month. The same position Beane himself held several weeks ago.
Meanwhile, a leftist politician in Buffalo pressured the Bills to institute a complete ban on people who have not gotten the COVID vaccines being allowed to attend in-game sporting events.
