Dan Rather ‘Mask Shames’ Super Bowl Ads

While watching Super Bowl LV, it appears journalist Dan Rather was heavily interested in the commercial ads featuring mask-less casts. Rather questioned whether it was ‘responsible’ to air ads with people not following COVID-19 guidelines.

The former 60 Minutes Anchor tweeted out concern during Super Bowl LV about the commercials asking, “Is it responsible having commercials showing people gathering in large groups without masks?”

The Tweet was instantly criticized by conservatives on social media, accusing the once popular News Anchor of “mask shaming” Super Bowl ads.

While watching the Super Bowl LV halftime show, Rather said he was thinking about, “contact tracing” — rather than the performance by popular recording artist, The Weeknd.
