BREAKING NEWS: Cleveland Indians to Officially Change Their Name
The New York Times reported that sources have confirmed the Cleveland Indians plan to change their name after 105 years of being named.
Earlier in the year in the midst of the George Floyd’s death, the Washington Redskins made the decision to change their name and iconic logo, the new team name has yet to be announced.
It would appear after 105 years of being called the Cleveland Indians, they have officially made the decision to change their name. There have been protests to remove the iconic name for several years leading up to the decision being made.
The Indians have struggled to sell tickets as of late and remain one of the least profitable franchises in all of the Major Leagues. It has yet to be determined how this name change will impact the franchises value and ticket sales in the future.
