Trump releases statement BLASTING LeBron James over Ohio police officer tweet
The 45th President of the United States slammed NBA superstar LeBron James Thursday evening over the player’s tweet attacking an Ohio police officer.
President Donald J Trump’s full statement is shared below:
“LeBron James should focus on basketball rather than presiding over the destruction of the NBA, which has just recorded the lowest television RATINGS, by far, in the long and distinguished history of the league. His RACIST rants are divisive nasty, insulting, and demeaning. He may be a great basketball player, but he is doing nothing to bring our Country together!”
President Trump referred to the recent ratings drop the NBA has experienced this year as they grapple with social justice activism becoming commonplace in the league..
In addition to the ratings jab, Trump called the former Cleveland Cavalier a “RACIST” and “divisive” figure.
The President has a long history of being at odds with the NBA star dating back the player’s very public support of Hillary Clinton in 2015. James even hosted a Hillary Clinton Rally in his hometown region of Northeast Ohio.
