Teen rapper accused of shooting NYPD officer released on bond
The rapper reportedly planned to use an advance on his contract with Interscope Records to post $15,000 in cash to secure the bond.
A teenage rapper accused of murdering a brave New York Police Department cop is back on the streets, free to potentially commit more crimes, after a leftist judge let him walk away after paying only $15,000 in cash. In this case, prosecutors actually did want him kept in jail without a chance of being bailed out.
“16-year-old rapper Camrin Williams was released back onto the streets Thursday, freed on bond, after he was charged with the shooting of an NYPD officer,” The Post Millennial reported.
“Camrin Williams, who is also known by the rap name C Blu, posted his $250,000 bond after being locked up at a Brooklyn juvenile facility on gun and assault charges in the shooting of a 27-year-old cop in Belmont,” Fox News reported.
“During the struggle, a gun he was holding went off, with a single bullet striking and wounding NYPD officer Kaseem Pennant and hitting the teenager in the groin,” Fox News reported.
The police officers union blasted the decision by the left-wing judge.
"If anybody wants to know why we have a crisis of violence in this city, or why we’re about to bury two hero police officers, look no further than this disgraceful bail release,” Patrick Lynch said.
