Stacey Abrams Nominated for Nobel Peace Prize
The former Democrat gubernatorial candidate, Stacey Abrams, was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize on Monday.
Abrams touts herself as a “voting rights activist” and her organization, Fair Fight Action, was instrumental in increasing the turnout of Black voters in Georgia in the 2020 Election.
Abrams was able to shock the world and flip a once Red State to a Blue State for the first time in decades.
Norway’s Lars Haltbrekken, a Socialist Party politician, stated that Abram’s work follows in, “Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s footsteps in the fight for equality before the law and for civil rights.” Martin Luther King Jr. of course won the award in 1964.
Thousands of people are eligible to nominate someone for the honor, which is announced annually in October. The last winner of the Nobel Peace Prize from the United States was former President Hussein Obama in 2009.
