Biden: America Has Never Lived Up To Its Founding Principles
In a tweet on Monday to recognize the start of Black History Month, President Biden claimed that America has never lived up to its founding principles but his administration “is committed to finishing the work left undone.”
“We’ve never fully lived up to the founding principles of this nation, but our Administration is committed to finishing the work left undone. It’s long past time to confront deep racial inequities and systemic racism and fulfill the promise of America for all,” tweeted Biden.
During his Presidential campaign, Biden released a video claiming that “America was an idea. We’ve never lived up to it but we’ve never walked away from it before.”
In his first week as President, Biden has signed more executive orders than any president in history. It had reached the point where even the New York Times criticized Biden for the amount of orders signed.
