Shake Shack founder requiring customers and employees to provide proof of COVID vaccine in restaurant group
The restaurant company Unity Square Hospitality Group was started by Shake Shack founder Danny Meyer.
Another corporation has bowed down to President Joe Biden and the much-vaunted, but often wrong, CDC.
Union Square Hospitality Group will force every single employee to receive a COVID-19 vaccine, or else he or she will be terminated. Customers who chose not to get vaccinated will be permanently banned from eating or drinking inside Danny Meyer’s restaurants, though they could eat or drink outside.
Meyer’s founded Shake Shack, though that company has yet to set a draconian policy like that of its founder.
Meyer recently went on CNBC to explain why his company wanted to force every employee to take the experimental jab.
The CEO said:
I’m not a scientist, but I know how to read data and what I see is that this is a crisis of people who have not been vaccinated, and I feel strong responsibility, on our part as business leaders, to take care of our team and our guests, and that’s what we’re doing.
The policy could lead to racial discrimination lawsuits against Meyer’s chain -- that’s because overwhelmingly black Americans have rejected the COVID-19 vaccine.
Based on data from 40 states, the Kaiser Family Foundation said only 36% of black Americans have received the COVID vaccine as of mid-July.
