RECORD SETTING 100 Ships Anchored in LA and Long Beach Ports
Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg is just returning from his two month paid paternity leave.
Ships remain stuck in two important California ports as the transportation and shipping problems continue to cause problems for American consumers.
“A record-breaking 100 ships were reported to be anchored off the Port of Los Angeles and the Port of Long Beach as of Tuesday, as the cargo crisis continued, despite the Biden administration’s claims of progress,” Breitbart reported.
“Certainly, a lot of the challenges that we have been experiencing this year will continue into next year. But there are both short-term and long-term steps that we can take to do something about it. Part of what’s happening isn’t just the supply side. It’s the demand side. Demand is off the charts,” Buttigieg said, according to Breitbart.
“The major backlog of container ships at the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach is the worst its ever been, with 100 ships waiting to enter and unload as of Tuesday,” an ABC affiliate reported.
“That number breaks last month's record of 97 vessels. To put it into context, there would typically be about 17 ships at anchor in pre-pandemic times. The two Southern California ports account for 40% of all shipping containers entering the U.S,” the ABC station reported.
