Rand Paul officially requests Justice Department launch a criminal investigation into Fauci

Senator Rand Paul delivered on his promise after saying he planned to send an official criminal referral to the Department of Justice last week.

The request stems from Senator Paul’s accusation that Dr. Fauci lied to Congress about NIH funding gain of function research.

The request follows another heated exchange between Sen. Paul and Fauci at a hearing last week, which culminated with Fauci lashing out at Rand Paul for exposing the “Big Lie” that Fauci’s NIH did NOT fund gain-of-function research.

The Department of Justice has yet to respond to the referral.
