Queen of England Calls for Photo ID Requirement to Vote in UK Elections
Queen Elizabeth has called on Parliament to strengthen election integrity by requiring photo ID.
The CEO of Coca-Cola, a British-born man who bashed Georgia for strengthening its elections, is about to lose his mind.
That’s because Queen Elizabeth has announced that she wants future elections to require a photo ID to vote.
The Queen, like most Americans, understands that requiring proof of residence and proof of person is a straightforward, basic way to protect the integrity of the elections.
“Britons will have to show photo ID to vote in future general elections, ministers are poised to confirm this week,” The Guardian reported.
“The Electoral Integrity Bill had been expected to be brought forward in 2021 and was confirmed by the queen in her speech,” MarketWatch confirmed.
“It would require people to show identification to vote in U.K. elections from 2023, an issue that has proved contentious in the U.S. in recent months,” the business news organization reported.
“Currently, people in the U.K. can vote at their local polling station by confirming their name and address, except in Northern Ireland where photo ID has been required since 2003,” MarketWatch said.
Photo ID is a basic voter integrity measure supported by most Americans. For example, “75% of Likely U.S. Voters believe voters should be required to show photo identification such as a driver’s license before being allowed to vote,” according to Rasmussen Reports.
The right-leaning organization notes that “Thirty-six states have enacted some form of voter ID law.”
