Palm Beach Attorney Says Trump Can Live At Mar-A-Lago Full Time
Palm Beach town attorney John Randolph sent a memo this week to the mayor and town council claiming that Donald Trump can live in Mar-A-Lago full time despite a verbal agreement thirty years ago where Trump said that he will only live there part time.
According to the verbal agreement, Trump said he would only stay there three weeks out of the year after purchasing it and turning it into a private club. Marion, Trump’s current lawyer, says that the verbal agreement carries no weight since it was not put down in writing and Randolph agreed.
According to Randolph, the zoning code provides residence to "Sole proprietors, partners, limited partners, corporate officers and the like" and Trump would be considered to be among those people.
The Palm Beach Town council will be discussing the issue at their next meeting on February 9.
