Newsmax beats CNN in ratings thanks to Trump rally
The conservative network had more viewers on Friday night than CNN.
Despite cancelation by major cable companies and frequent campaigns by leftist activists to destroy Newsmax, the conservative network managed to defeat liberal CNN in ratings on Friday night.
“On Friday evening, right-leaning cable network Newsmax beat out CNN in terms of total viewers across prime time, due to former President Donald Trump’s Pennsylvania rally,” Mediate.com reported. “Newsmax’s coverage of the rally averaged 738,000 total viewers between 8 and 10 p.m., which lifted the network’s total average across prime time to 579,000 viewers.”
“CNN, meanwhile, only averaged a total of 545,000 prime time viewers, with its highest-rated prime time program, Anderson Cooper 360, bringing in some 645,000 total viewers,” the site reported.
CNN continues to struggle to maintain its already small amount of viewers in the wake of scandal after scandal at its network. It built its brand from 2015 to 2021 on rabid, anti-Trump content, but many viewers are turned away from the network. It recently pulled the plug on its failed CNN+ project.
