Larry Elder scores legal victory, will be included on the California governor ballot

The conservative radio host could defeat liberal Governor Gavin Newsom in the upcoming recall election.

California voters who want to stop Governor Gavin Newsom’s left-wing social and economic agenda will have a chance to put in a solid libertarian conservative Republican, thanks to a judge’s ruling.

“Conservative talk show host Larry Elder won his court challenge Wednesday to California Secretary of State Shirley Weber, who must place him on the list of candidates in the Sep. 14 election to recall incumbent Gov. Gavin Newsom,” Breitbart reported.

Governor Newsom had been exempted from a new state law that requires the disclosure of tax returns, but then Elder was improperly punished despite following the law.

“Elder’s campaign sued the Secretary of State after she excluded him from the list of 41 candidates to replace Newsom, if a majority of voters choose to recall him, Breitbart reported.

“The reason given was that Elder allegedly failed to file complete tax returns. Elder’s campaign denied that accusation, noting that he had turned in five years of tax returns on time, and also arguing that the law requiring candidates to submit tax returns did not apply to recalls anyway,” the news outlet said.

Governor Newsom has lost popularity due to his stringent COVID lockdowns and his far-left racial and social ideology.
