Joe Manchin Caves, Resumes Negotiations on Build Back Better
Build Back Better has been criticized as being nothing more than socialism in disguise, and moderate Democrat Joe Manchin might now be more open to supporting its passage through the US Senate.
Senator Joe Manchin, who previously opposed Build Back Better in 2021, is reportedly now open to considering the radical Build Back Better legislation in 2022.
The bill would be a massive spending grab from the Democrats in Congress pushing through numerous liberal measures for green energy and welfare expansions.
Fox Business covered the prospects of Manchin caving:
“Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) has reportedly resumed negotiations with the White House on President Joe Biden’s ‘Build Back Better’ agenda after essentially torpedoing it before the Christmas break,” Breitbart reported.
Manchin had previously said that he “cannot vote” for Build Back Better because it would be too radical for the people of West Virginia (Manchin’s constituents).
“Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) is open to reengaging on the climate and child care provisions in President Biden's Build Back Better agenda if the White House removes the enhanced child tax credit from the $1.75 trillion package — or dramatically lowers the income caps for eligible families,” Axios reported.
Only time will tell if the unpredictable Manchin caves to the Democrat spending bill or stands firm with his previous rejection of the bill.
