Joe Biden Calls Ending Mask Mandate in Texas ‘Neanderthal Thinking’

President Biden blasted the governors of Mississippi and Texas on Wednesday while giving a press briefing, describing the decision as ‘Neanderthal thinking.”

Biden expressed his love of masks during an Oval Office meeting with Congressional Democrats which was designated to discuss curing cancer.

“The last thing, the last thing we need is Neanderthal thinking that in the meantime, everything’s fine, take off your mask, forget it,” Biden said.

Biden, of course, was referring to the recent decision by Governor Greg Abbott and Governor Tate Reeves to end mask mandates and restore 100% capacity to restaurants and businesses across their respective states.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki commented during the White House press briefing on Wednesday to questions about whether the Biden administration would issue a response to Texas and Mississippi lifting their statewide mask mandates.

Psaki said Biden would speak with Governor Abbott about his decision “at the next opportunity he has.”
