George W. Bush, ‘Cut the Red Tape for Refugees’ from Taliban Controlled Afghanistan

He said that these Afghans, many of whom refused to fight, deserve a place in America.

Former President George W. Bush, who oversaw the beginning of the two-decades long war in Afghanistan, is urging President Joe Biden to make it easier for thousands and thousands of Afghan refugees to flood the United States.

This despite the fact that numerous Arabic-speaking countries that are culturally closer to Afghanistan are available to take in refugees.

“Afghanistan is also made up of resilient, vibrant people,” President Bush said in an August 16 statement. That is a questionable proposition, as video shows Afghan men trying to flee the country by jumping on plans. Do resilient people flee their country in the face of danger from their fellow Muslim Afghanis? No, they do not.

Other neoconservatives want to see the country accept thousands of refugees.

Never Trumper Bill Kristol, who has pushed for invasions in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Libya and Iran, also urged Biden to rectify his botched pullout by resettling hundreds of  thousands of refugees throughout the United States.

“Every Afghan refugee coming to America--and it would be great if we could help as many as ‘a couple hundred thousand’ to escape--will have done more to help American troops, and American civilians serving our country,” than one critic of refugee resettlement has, Kristol asserted. Kristol also never served the country in uniform.

Do you think we should completely shut down all refugee resettlement? Do you think we should flood the country with hundreds of thousands of refugees? Let us know below!
