Former Trump Official Jim Bognet Announces Run for Congress in Pennsylvania

President Trump appointed Jim Bognet to his administration to help rebuild America’s industrial heartland and create jobs, now he is running for Congress in Pennsylvania’s 8th District.

Jim Bognet announced his 2022 campaign today for PA’s current 8th congressional district in front of a large crowd on Public Square in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.

Bognet for Congress released an announcement video that can be seen in the embedded tweet below.

Bognet labeled Matt Cartwright as a “big government trial attorney” and a “lapdog of California liberal Nancy Pelosi".” In 2020, Cartwright defeated Bognet by a slim margin of 178,004 votes to 165,783. Jim Bognet was up by 10,000 votes on election night in 2020.

Matt Cartwright is one of four Democrats in Pennsylvania targeted by the NRCC.

Jim Bognet is widely considered to be the front-runner for the GOP nomination with the inside track to receive support from President Donald J Trump. The former President endorsed Bognet during the 2020 election.
