Former ICE Director Says Biden’s Policies Have Fueled the Border Crisis
Ron Vitiello said the “root cause” of the immigration crisis is Biden’s weakness on the border.
A former acting director of ICE said the Biden administration is to blame for the surge of illegal migrants at the border.
"Working with Guatemala, working with The Northern Triangle on governance and anti-corruption activities, that’s all well and good, but that’s not going to stop the surge that’s occurring on the border right now,” Ron Vitiello said recently on Fox News.
“We’ve encouraged people to send or bring their children to the border and the root cause of the chaos is the reversal of the policies,” Vitiello said.
“President Biden scrapped a number of his predecessor's immigration policies, which included wall construction and having asylum seekers remain in Mexico instead of in the U.S. while they wait for their cases to be heard,” Fox News reported. “The moves have led to a record surge in migrants, including unaccompanied minors, that has strained capacity at immigration facilities.”
The comments come after a border visit (sort of) from VP Kamala Harris and a trip by the Secretary of Homeland Security, Alejandro Mayorkas.
