Federal Judge Hands Texas Win By Blocking Biden's 100-Day Deportation Freeze
A federal judge blocked Biden’s deportation freeze in a ruling on Tuesday after Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton had sued the administration for attempting to implement this policy.
According to District Judge Drew Tipton, he struck down the deportation freeze due to the state of Texas providing enough evidence to show that they would face harm if the policy wasn’t blocked.
“VICTORY. Texas is the FIRST state in the nation to bring a lawsuit against the Biden Admin. AND WE WON. Within 6 days of Biden’s inauguration, Texas has HALTED his illegal deportation freeze. *This* was a seditious left-wing insurrection. And my team and I stopped it,” tweeted Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott also celebrated the news over Twitter.
“A Federal judge temporarily blocks President Biden's attempt to halt deportations of illegal immigrants who already have a final order of removal from the US. The President's act abandoned the obligation to enforce immigration laws.”
There is currently no news on if the Biden administration will continue to pursue a deportation freeze after this ruling.
