FBI investigating death threat, suspicious package sent to Senator Rand Paul’s house
Law enforcement has been called in to investigate death threats sent to Senator Rand Paul’s house.
“On the outside of the envelope was a picture of a bruised and bandaged Paul with a gun to his head and a threat printed beneath it: ‘I’ll finish what your neighbor started you motherf------,’” Fox News reported.
“I have been targeted multiple times now, it is reprehensible that Twitter allows C-list celebrities to advocate for violence against me and my family!” the libertarian senator tweeted.
“The Warren County Sheriff’s Office said in a social media post that it was contacted by Capitol Police on Monday regarding a suspicious package delivered to Paul's home in Bowling Green,” the Courier-Journal reported.
“The package was taken to the Bowling Green Fire Department and a preliminary analysis identified the substance as nontoxic, the sheriff's office said. It did not identify the substance,” the local paper said.
Left-wingers jumped in to mock Paul, showing their disdain for the senator. The disdain is confusing, since the Kentucky senator has been a champion for many traditionally liberal causes such as civil liberties and decriminalization of marijuana.
“I’ll say it again: If I ever meet Rand Paul’s neighbor I’m going to hug him and buy him as many drinks as he can consume,” musician Richard Marx tweeted.
“Right wingers freaking out over Richard Marx's tweet about Rand Paul. Um...do they know who Rand Paul is? I'd buy his neighbor a shit ton of drinks too, I think we all would,” Black Lives Matter activist Amy Thatcher said.
Paul was attacked by a violent neighbor of his in 2017. Paul was also at the baseball practice when a deranged Bernie Sanders activist shot a Republican baseball practice, severely wounding Representative Steve Scalise.
It’s not immediately clear why Paul has been threatened, but he has been vocal against COVID lockdowns, Anthony Fauci’s leadership and potential vaccine passports.
Should there be a federal investigation launched into all threats against Senator Paul? Should Democrat leadership apologize for the ongoing threats and violence against their Republican colleague? Share your thoughts below!
