NIH Director: Trump Admin Should Get Credit for Success of ‘Operation Warp Speed’
The Director of the National Institutes of Health, Dr. Francis Collins, credited the Trump Administration for its efforts in delivering a COVID-19 vaccination.
Francis Collins, the boss of White House chief medical adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci, told Axios "The Operation Warp Speed, for which I give a great deal of credit to [former HHS Secretary Alex Azar], was a effort that many of us were not initially convinced was going to be necessary. And it was thought about as a Manhattan Project."

“Operation Warp Speed” was a plan developed by the Trump White House with the goal of achieving 300 million vaccines in the arms of Americans by January 2021.
Two vaccines, made by Moderna and Pfizer, are currently approved by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
In weeks leading up to election day, both Joe Biden and Kamala Harris criticized the idea of a vaccine that would be safe for the general public produced by the Trump Administration.
Coronavirus has infected more than 28 million people in the United States causing approximately 100,00 deaths under the Biden Administration and over 500,000 total deaths overall.
