Democrat Rep Ted Lieu “Dares” His Catholic Priest to Deny Him Communion Over Abortion Support
Ted Lieu is a far-left Congressman who claims to be Catholic, yet he recently controversially ‘dared’ his priests to deny him Communion.
Left-wing California Congressman Ted Lieu recently challenged U.S. bishops to deny him the Eucharist, in response to news that President Biden may be denied Communion.
The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops recently voted to create a document to lay out the guidelines under which a pro-abortion Catholic politician could be denied Communion.
Lieu laid out a number of positions he holds that are directly opposed to the Catholic Church’s teaching.
“Next time I go to Church, I dare you to deny me Communion,” Lieu said.
In his comments, Lieu decided to put his hard left social agenda over the teachings of the Catholic Church -- and he says he is a Catholic.
While a number of Biblical verses can be difficult for the average person to understand, at least one is fairly simple.
“And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be humbled: and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted,” Christ says in Matthew 23:12.
For people like Lieu who don’t understand what that means, it means that people who humble themselves and accept what the Church teaches, instead of “dar[ing]” Bishops, will be exalted [by God].
It also means that people who place themselves above the Church (for example, by endorsing taxpayer-funded 9th-month abortions, the official platform of Democrats) will be humbled.
