California Woman Killed in Random Attack After Suspect Was Recently Released on Bail Due to COVID Restrictions
A California woman has been arrested for alleged murder, just days after police arrested her for assault.
Riverside, California police arrested Darlene Stephanie Montoya for the murder of 64-year-old Ke Chieh Meng, according to Breaking911.com.
Montoya had been arrested and then let out of jail just days prior due to COVID jail regulations.
“Montoya was arrested by Riverside Police Officers just days earlier after she attacked a woman with a skateboard on Tyler Avenue at the 91 Freeway overpass,” Breaking 911 reported. “Officers arrested and booked Montoya into jail for assault with a deadly weapon, but due to the current emergency bail schedule during the COVID-19 pandemic, she was released on a ‘Notice to Appear’ citation.”
“Police say Meng was walking her two small dogs along Golden Avenue that morning when she was randomly confronted and attacked by Montoya,” the news site reported. “Montoya was later booked for murder, weapons violation, and suspicion of being under the influence of an illegal substance.”
“Paramedics and police officers found Meng on the sidewalk. She had been stabbed several times and was bleeding from the abdomen. She was later pronounced dead at a hospital,” Heavy.com reported.
Someone apparently learned their lesson; “She is being held without bail,” Breaking 911 reported.
