REPORT: President Trump Says He Requested 10,000 National Guard Troops Before Capitol Riot

President Donald J Trump told Fox News’ Steve Hilton that he expressed concerns over the crowd size near the Capitol and made a personal request for National Guard deployment.

President Trump told Fox News’ Steve Hilton that he and his team had alerted the Department of Defense days before the rally that crowd sizes might be larger than anticipated and 10,000 national guardsmen should be ready to deploy.

Trump also said he believes the warnings were passed along to Speaker Nancy Pelosi who opposed the optics of troops at the Capitol Building.

Senator Lindsey Graham has stated he supports a 9/11-style commission to examine evidence from the Capitol Riot.

Many Republicans believe the evidence found could show that Democrat leaders were aware of the threat and did nothing.

President Trump specifically stated he hated to see what took place and compared it to the unrest we saw in cities like Seattle and Portland.
