New York Times Columnist Takes Aim At Cartoon Pepe Le Pew Says He ‘Added to Rape Culture’

New York Times columnist Charles M Blow has targeted a famous old Looney Tunes character, Pepe Le Pew, claiming the animated romance obsessed skunk of French nationality was promoting ‘rape culture.’

On the heels of Seuss Enterprises cancelling publication of six famous Dr. Seuss books, a New York Times columnist has taken aim at Looney Tunes character, Pepe Le Pew in a recent Op-Ed titled “Six Seuss Books Bore a Bias” where the columnist argued racism is deeply embedded into American society.

Charles M Blow took aim at Speedy Gonzales, Mammy Two Shoes and Pepe Le Pew in his op-ed claiming they all played a role in telegraphing the “wrong message.”

Blow later tweeted out video footage of Pepe Le Pew in response to conservative commentators criticizing his column.

“RW blogs are mad bc I said Pepe Le Pew added to rape culture. Let’s see. 1. He grabs/kisses a girl/stranger, repeatedly, w/o consent and against her will. 2. She struggles mightily to get away from him, but he won’t release her. 3. He locks a door to prevent her from escaping.”

Conservatives are pointing out that the cartoon was most likely never meant to be interpreted in the adult lens that Blow is deciding to view it through.

It looks like the romantic Skunk may be the next target of the politically correct mob’s attention, unfortunately we’ve seen this play out numerous times before. If you enjoy Looney Tunes cartoons, purchase them while you still can before they’re eventually cancelled and scrubbed from US marketplaces.

Do you think Pepe Le Pew is offensive and promoting rape culture? Should it be cancelled? Comment your thoughts below!
