Donald Glover: Cancel Culture Making Entertainment “Boring”
The actor and musician took to Twitter to blame cancel culture for “boring” movies and television.
Golden Globe and Grammy winner Donald Glover seemingly bucked Hollywood orthodoxy and blamed cancel culture for the low-quality output of the entertainment industry in recent years.
The star said fear of “getting cancelled” was running rampant and causing creators to take fewer risks.
The tweet sparked a firestorm of speculation and debate, with many lashing out at Glover for ever so slightly stand up to political correctness.
Some speculated he was referring to “cancelled” in the sense that television series get dropped by the networks that air them. Glover’s reps could not be reached for comment, according to the New York Post.
